1 Corinthians 10:13
No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is
faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you
are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.
From this verse of Scripture it is clear that even in our worst temptation we have the potential to overcome. At times it seems like we are never going to make it, but the truth of the matter is that as a believer, whatever the trials we face we are going to make it. Think of those who suffered for Christ under harsh persecutions, trials and temptations as your great encouragement when you fall in diverse trials and temptations. The apostles made it in the bible. You are also going to make it!
Elsewhere He also says:
If this is so, then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials and to hold
the unrighteous for punishment on the day of judgment. 2Peter 2:9
Remember Lot? God removed him from judgment and judged the ungodly, even though it seemed like God was never going to come through for him. Be encouraged: think about Daniel in the Lion's Den and Joseph in the prison or Jeremiah in the well. Well your time to be in prison is just about to end, because God has orchestrated an appointment with you and the King!
